Started Real Estate career January 1984 with Dalgety Real Estate Mount Maunganui which one year after merged with Wrightson Real Estate. In 1994 Fletcher Challenge Franchised their Real Estate operation under the brand Challenge Realty and John took up the franchise offer for the Mount Maunganui office. In 1998 L.J. Hooker purchased the Challenge Realty Franchise group.

Under the new name of L.J. Hooker John was invited to accept an admirals roll within the group.

During John’s time with the group John has been awarded:

· Franchise Owner of the Year in 2003.

· The Mount Maunganui office has been awarded ‘Best Business Growth’ twice 1999 and 2005.

· Inaugural President of the Auction Chapter.

· 21 Club member 2006
