The commitment and dedication LJ Hooker Waihi Beach shows to its local community is why LJ Hooker Waihi Beach regularly win the Top Community Relationship award at the Groups national awards, Night of the Stars.   The office's commitment is perhaps best exemplified by the establishment of the Waihi Beach Community Shop. This initiative supports three vital local non-profits: the Mayor View Volunteer Fire Brigade (Waihi Beach, Athenree Stations), the Waihi Beach Coastguard, and the Waihi Beach Surf Life-Saving Club.   LJ Hooker Waihi Beach Principal Gary Alway expressed his pride in the award and the team's ongoing efforts to give back to the community.   “Everything we do is about our community. Property is not just about a place to call home, but it’s that community you live in that makes it a real home. I hope our work strengthens the community, giving people opportunities while creating a great place to live.   “Our success is deeply connected with the health and happiness of our local community, and we are honoured to be recognised for our efforts.”   Gary Alway’s dedication extends beyond the office, as he also plays a vital role in the local Mayor View Fire Brigade. Chief Fire Officer Paul Tuckers commended Gary's contributions, saying, “Gary has one of the highest call-out rates in the brigade, which shows his selfless commitment to the community.”   LJ Hooker Waihi Beach’s commitment extends to the lifting spirits in the community too. When the beloved Christmas in the Village event was cancelled, the team stepped in to bring back the Christmas spirit to the community, a testament to their belief in boosting community morale. Additionally, their sponsorship of local community publications ensures that positive news is shared, further strengthening their relationship with the community.   The list of events and organisations supported by LJ Hooker Waihi Beach is extensive, including local sports clubs, the RSA, community events, artists, and schools. Their support has empowered many individuals to achieve new heights, such as surf skier Bree McCowett, who said “without your support, I would not be where I am today. Thank you again for allowing me to do what I love.”   Alway emphasised LJ Hooker Waihi Beach’s deep-rooted connection to the community lies at the core of everything they do.   “Our team’s inclusive approach extends to embracing every request, no matter how small, as we understand the significance of these opportunities for the organisations involved. Our steadfast support has played a vital role in creating meaningful opportunities, and we want to make sure the Waihi Beach and surrounding communities don’t miss out.”   LJ Hooker Group Head of Network NZ Campbell Dunoon said the community efforts of the team at LJ Hooker Waihi Beach have been noticed across LJ Hooker Group, setting a new gold standard for community relations.   “LJ Hooker Waihi Beach's dedication to their community is a shining example of what it means to truly live our values. Their unwavering commitment to making a positive difference is inspiring, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of their efforts.” [Share ](https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/press-releases/lj-hooker-waihi-beach-wins-prestigious-top-community-relationship-award-at-international-awards-gala#) ### Share on [Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/press-releases/lj-hooker-waihi-beach-wins-prestigious-top-community-relationship-award-at-international-awards-gala) [Twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=I+found+this+interesting+blog+post&url=https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/press-releases/lj-hooker-waihi-beach-wins-prestigious-top-community-relationship-award-at-international-awards-gala) [Email](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/press-releases/lj-hooker-waihi-beach-wins-prestigious-top-community-relationship-award-at-international-awards-gala%20&body=Check%20out%20https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/press-releases/lj-hooker-waihi-beach-wins-prestigious-top-community-relationship-award-at-international-awards-gala&media=https://21262656.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/21262656/corporate/ljhooker/ljhooker.co.nz/Blog%20images/LJ%20Hooker%20Waihi%20Beach%20Wins%20Prestigious%20Top%20Community%20Relationship%20Award%20at%20International%20Awards%20Gala.png) [Copy Link](https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/press-releases/lj-hooker-waihi-beach-wins-prestigious-top-community-relationship-award-at-international-awards-gala#) [Press Release](https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/press-releases/tag/press-release) ![Lyall Russell](https://www.ljhooker.co.nz/hubfs/corporate/ljhooker/recruitment/452A8135%201.jpg) #### Lyall Russell With more than a decade of experience in journalism, media and strategic communications, Lyall Russell has built a career around telling stories that inform and engage.
